Orthography

What is it?
Orthography is the practice or study of correct spelling according to established usage. In a broader sense, orthography can refer to the study of letters and how they are used to express sounds and form words.

Why is it important?
Orthography allows us to have an unchanging, set in stone English alphabet that consists of twenty-six letters that form the very words we speak and write. It is vital that orthography is studied because it creates ways in which children learn to spell and eventually read and write
